Why do UX and Product designers use the word "Empathy" to describe "Consumer Insights" or "Consumer Research"? I totally don't understand it. Twenty years ago, I learned it from Philip Kotler's Marketing Management. Now people start using Design Thinking to teach CEOs the knowledge of "Consumer Research" with the term "Empathy".
